Friday 6th July 2007 - Stony

Stony

RICHARD ADAMS and MARK GORDON have a rare ability and talent to tread both the folk and rock circuits with ease. With marvellously virtuosic driving piano and acoustic guitar and harmonies to boot, they don't see barriers, just musical peaks. On the one hand they've transcribed a book of Traditional Yorkshire Folk song and on the other they write highly-accessible, contemporary songs - some deeply moving and personal, others lighthearted or political - as well as tapping into the repertoires of Billy Joel, Paul Simon and Van Morrison and 'unsigned heroes'. They've played sell-out concerts in Europe, and tonight they'll break every emotional bone in your body! That's why they're Ram regulars.

Friday 13th July 2007 - Tim Edey with Brendan Power & Lucy Randall

Tim Edey with Brendan Power & Lucy Randall

Once in a while, a genius comes along, Stevie Wonder-like, with music running through every pore, muscle and vein. TIM is extraordinarily talented, the likes of whom you'll not have seen in a long while. We exaggerate not; he has been soaking up music like a sponge since he was knee high to a leprechaun. Still in his youth Tim has already shone as guitarist and accordeonist with the likes of MICHAEL McGOLDRICK & LUNASA to name but two, and now he's writing his own dazzling tunes. He keeps good company too; BRENDAN is a virtuoso harmonica player and an acknowledged expert player of Irish Traditional music. He has recorded and toured with many artists, including STING, VAN MORRISON, MARY BLACK, JAMES GALWAY, PAUL BRADY and JOHN WILLIAMS, with several solo CDs to his name . LUCY plays percussion in just about every genre with astonishing technical ability. All in all, electrifying music to excite the soul.

Friday 20th July 2007 - Robb Johnson

Robb Johnson

ROBB is one of the UK's finest songwriters. Much-covered, he writes up-to-date songs, from the powerful & provocative to the witty & clever - songs that make you listen. Always a thorn in the fat, overfed underbelly of politics, having done for Thatcherism he now has a new target! It's not all politics, and he is capable of the most touching songs about love, family, war and peace, as well as those of Jacques Brel.
