Friday 5th April 2013 - Pete Morton

Pete Morton

PETE is a passionate, intense performer with a driving guitar style & a great stage presence who, for the last couple of decades, has been busy putting back the 'F' in Folk. Carrying on the true tradition of an urban songwriter, he is always 'on the road' and has delivered a wealth of great songs that are an unruly mix of humour, politics, love and social comment. A Ram favourite, Pete sings from the heart and his song 'Another Train' is popular with choirs and artists around the world and has brought hope and encouragement to countless listeners over the years. Check it out on the Ram's YouTube! Tonight Pete will be performing songs from his latest album 'Economy'. 'Pete may just have made the best album of his life', said Properganda mag.

Friday 12th April 2013 - Archie Fisher MBE

Archie Fisher MBE

Scotland's foremost troubadour, ARCHIE is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, horseman, radio host and 'Keeper of the Tradition'. The classic songs he has written, like Bill Hosie, The Final Trawl, Ettrick, Lindsay, Men o' Worth and Dark Eyed Molly to name but a few are sung all over. He continues to write and tour, delivering songs old and new as well as a few choice covers with a low voice as rich and aromatic as the finest Single Malt. Awarded an MBE for services to Folk music and an inductee in the Scottish Traditional Hall of Fame, he's a legend! His new album 'Windward Away' is a haunting collection of introspective ballads that evoke the wild & rough beauty of the Scottish Borders.

A truly stunning young band - both musically and visually! The Outside Track's marriage of Canadian, Scottish and Irish music and song has been rapturously received around the world. Friday 26th April 2013 - Grace Notes

Grace Notes

...are HELEN HOCKENHULL, MAGGIE BOYLE and LYNDA HARDCASTLE. All three are wonderful singers (Maggie has played the club numerous times with Steve Tilston and The Expatriate Game), with voices which are so very different in character yet so highly complementary. 'Harmony heaven', with a fabulous choice of mostly contemporary songs performed a cappella or embellished tastefully with keyboard and flute. They gave us a really nice night in 2011, and once again they'll be singing songs from their Fellside CDs including their new 20th anniversary 'Best Of', which is full of choice material by the likes of the aforementioned Steve Tilston, Archie Fisher, Richard Shindell, Loudon Wainwright III, trad and lots more favourites.
