For our 30th birthday on 21st October 2013 we updated our 'Compleat History of the Ram Club' booklet (PDF format, 10Mb). Click to view or download - it's a 'must read', with a list of all the guests we have ever had plus some stories and pictures!
Below is a list of the past guests from September 2006.
Anna gave us a great debut last March so it's our pleasure to welcome her back. Born in Scarborough into a musical family, at the age of 10 she played flute, horn, oboe and trumpet in the Yorkshire Youth Orchestra. Destined for Music College, her future was marred by family problems and she left home at 13, became a teenage bride and had a family. It wasn't until the early eighties that she took up music again after five years living in a camper van. Having taught herself guitar, fiddle & saxophone she discovered the folk scene and her ability to write songs, and her musical career has blossomed ever since. She's played in a variety of bands over the years, but it is her solo work that earns her growing acclaim - she won a BBC 'Songwriter of the Year' award in 2006. Anna's compelling, honest voice & songs of life make for achingly-beautiful music.

'IT'S CHRRRRISMASSS', and who better to have as guest than the man who wrote what is arguably Folk's greatest ever seasonal anthem, 'Jogging Along With My Reindeer'? John is a Living Legend with a bottomless barrel of folklore and song to warm your cockles and raise the rafters, and his 'Carolling and Crumpets' show is a sock full of carols in their traditional, lovely, original forms, winter songs, tunes and celebration. It'll be a cracker! As ever, there'll be nibbles, mulled wine, a raffle & seasonal songs from reined-in regulars, all in a hall bedecked in glam. And remember - the Ram is for life, not just for Christmas!
