Friday 9th January 2015 - Hank Wangford Trio

Hank Wangford Trio

Laughter and tears - the best medicine from English C&W music's singing doctor

A perfect new year tonic from the star of English country and western. Wangford, known to his patients as Dr Sam Hutt, was inspired to play C&W music in the 1970s after meeting former Byrds member Gram Parsons. Still practising as a doctor - as well as being a travel writer and nude mountaineer - he says laughter, tears and music are the greatest healers. His songs are funny and sad and his band is certain to raise temperatures. Don't just take our word for it: "Wangford is one of the great English originals." (Guardian)

Friday 16th January 2015 - Richard Digance

Hilarious stories, one-liners and plenty of song from a top telly favourite

A star of stage and small screen, Richard's TV credits are countless, from a spot on the BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test to his own Saturday night ITV specials. But it is the live arena that sets him free to tell his sharply observed stories and jokes (he has a host of hilarious one-liners) and sing and play in a range of genres and styles. Despite 40 years at the top of the entertainment world, Richard's shows do not wallow in nostalgia - the gags and songs are bang up to date. Here's what someone who knew him as a kid in East London said : "[He was] a cheeky little sod in those days and now [he's] a natural entertainer with a great show."

Simply gorgeous songs from Stu and Debbie, a young couple now wowing large audiences

This delightful couple have matured into a top-class act since their first visit to play a floor spot at the Ram Club's old venue in Claygate. Stu and Debbie Hanna now wow large theatre audiences - and have become parents. Having a family sparked Stu to write an album of children's songs, many of which which transfer touchingly to the adult stage. Megson boast a growing catalogue of original songs - "Follow It On" and "Just Stay" are simply gorgeous - supplemented by their superb new album "In A Box". Friday 30th January 2015 - The Bully Wee Band

The Bully Wee Band

A rollicking evening of fun and great singing and musicianship from this powerful four-piece

Expect a powerhouse mixture of folk tunes, from the traditional to the edge of folk-rock, with achingly melodic ballads. The band (Ian Cutler, fiddle and keyboard; Colin Reece, guitar; Jim Yardley, mandolin and whistles; and Fergus Feely, cello mandolin) deliver a fast-paced, rollicking evening of fun, banter and great musicianship and singing. Colin and Jim were in the original band line-up in 1971 - and have witnessed its many incarnations and triumphant comebacks. They might have called a recent album "The Vintage Years 1975-1980", but as Folk and Roots says: "The old magic is still there and the music sounds as fresh as it did then."
