For our 30th birthday on 21st October 2013 we updated our 'Compleat History of the Ram Club' booklet (PDF format, 10Mb). Click to view or download - it's a 'must read', with a list of all the guests we have ever had plus some stories and pictures!
Below is a list of the past guests from September 2006.
The prodigal son returns! From the earliest age Lee has been blessed with fingers capable of guitar-playing beyond mere mortals, taking inspiration and lessons from Martin Simpson, touring with Keith Hancock and forging a successful solo career with his eclectic repertoire comprising Folk in all of its forms, chosen with only one criteria - good taste (OK, let's not mention 'Kiss'). Lee has been away for a while, on a skipping sabbatical earning proper money, but he has been missed and his annual gig was always a highlight so it's a pleasure to have him back. Always engaging, always brilliant, he'll have many a tale to tell of his travels.

Formed in 2005 in Sheffield, SKYHOOK are an exciting collaboration of three of the finest acoustic musicians in the UK. CATH JAMES on fiddle and viola was a finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Tradition Award in 1995. Her playing - warm, driving and precise - has graced stages across Europe and America. MARTIN HARWOOD on fiddle, guitar and bouzouki, is an exceptional multi-instrumentalist who had the honour of playing for Nelson Mandela in 2000. EOIN TEATHER is an exquisite accompanist on guitar & bouzouki, and a singer-songwriter with a voice that silences rooms. He too has played with some of the biggest names in Irish traditional music. Skyhook have a gorgeous sound, with traditional tunes and songs from Scotland, Ireland & Cape Breton plus some sparkling originals, all embellished by the breathtaking interplay between the twin fiddles, sublime accompaniments and singing. Shifting seamlessly between driving dance music and spine-tingling songs, they play with a joy and precision that's hard to match. Their debut album is out now.

BRIAN is an innovative melodeon, concertina & guitar player, while GORDON is a brilliant and original guitarist in the NIC JONES mould, as well as a superb flute player. Both are great singers too, and have been to the club many times in different guises. With a huge repertoire of traditional & original songs, poems by the likes of John Clare set to music, instrumentals and the odd startling interpretation of Dylan and Rolling Stones songs, they play with vibrancy and virtuosity - treasured gems among the hard-working, talented band of minstrels without whom the Folk scene wouldn't be.
